So that’s the end of my 1st day in Chennai. I’ve had a really long exhausting day that’s not been made any easier by the bail application being rejected. It’s believed by the judge that now that Nick and the lads are convicted prisoners, they are more likely to try to leave the country knowing they have been given a 5 year sentence. I’m absolutely devastated. This is not the news you need after 15 hours of travelling! Also, if the jailer hasn’t passed on this news to them, when I visit tomorrow it’s gonna be me that tells them ? Happy 30th eh Nick….double whammy!! On an ever so slightly lighter note, just before we got the verdict of bail being rejected, Nick was finally allowed a phone call today (they’re allowed 3 local 10 minute calls per month) and nearly 2 months in, he was finally granted his first call so it was a lovely surprise for his girlfriend and for me too as she’d just arrived at my hotel when he called so I got to say a really quick hello before seeing him tomorrow. We can appeal the bail dismissal at the Supreme Court. The High Court has given a start date for the appeal of 1st June…….!!! I can’t even put into words how I feel about what’s happened today but all I know is that it’s really horrible being here receiving this news on my own. Well, I’ve got a big day tomorrow as I visit the prison with all of his cards and treats. Thanks to everyone of you for your amazing support. It’s so appreciated and those poor lads in there need it all now more than they’ve ever needed it before! Xxx
